The Audertist Community is always ready for some fun and excitement! Join us today as we highlight our May 27th 2022, Scene Excerpt Contest that was hosted in our Discord!
Before we announce the winners of the Scene Contest, The Audertist Team would like to thank everyone who participated! We’d love to see more users participate in more of our contests and showcase their work and talents. With that being said, will start with some honorable mentions.
Honorable Mentions
First up! We have a heart-warming excerpt from one of users Loctovia’s book:
Text of Excerpt:
“You have been there for me all these years. I have also loved you for a while. Your dad has given us his blessing already so, please marry me”, he went down on his knees in front of Amanda and opened the small box, with a ring!
Amanda’s heart skipped a beat, and she replied a little foolishly, “Huh?”
“Will you marry me?”
Her trance was broken as a violin started playing a beautiful melody in the background.
Instead, she asked, “Aren’t we moving a little too fast? “…but considering our years together ….Yes- yes I will marry you! I only came for a boyfriend, but I am rather going away with a fiancé. Oh, thank you, my guardian angel”
The next words from Eddy nearly made Amanda collapse. She felt as if someone had splashed cold water on her face so much …, and it took all her self-confidence to mask what she felt inside.
“What are you talking about?” he had said to her ‘Yes’ response.
“Do you think that she would like it? You are one of the few people I trust, and you also know her. That’s why I practiced with you”
What a heart-warming excerpt, indeed. Maybe we’ll see this user next time in another one of our contests!
Now, our second honorable mention comes from one of our users, Macy Bae’s book with another emotional moving romantic moment!
Text of Excerpt:
💖 From “Vows and Bullets” Prologue 💖
I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t know what to feel or how I should feel except that… my heart… it kept crumbling and crumbling into dust. My body felt cold, and my mind a jumbled mess. Before I knew it, tears were already falling from my eyes, falling like the rain with no signs of stopping.
What kind of joke is this? It’s not even funny. I know that heaven had never been for me except maybe now that it’s raining. At the very least, it’s hiding my tears away… as if helping me conceal my pain. But this… this pain…
A pain I can’t even explain anymore—wretchedness beyond words.
It hurts… so much!
I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life but… why?
And as if the heavens were joking with me again, I found “him” standing before me. His face looked dark and gloomy though maybe not as worse as mine. I wanted to smile at him like I usually do, but… slowly, I…
I raised my gun towards him.
And he raised his gun towards me.
With my cracked, shaking, desperate voice, I asked him…
“Why?… Why does it have to be you?”

Text Excerpt:
“Not everyone may like us, but we must embrace even those who wish ill against us, and learn to forgive those who are unrepentant.”
“What if I cannot?” she shot back, angry that he was so willing to forgive others yet was so hard on her.
How could he expect her to forgive them when they treated her so wretchedly…?
How could she forgive them when they were not even sorry for how miserable they made her life though she did nothing to them?
She could not!
Aslan looked a long time at Emeravwe. His somber gaze and grave bearing slowly melted her annoyance despite herself.
He reached a hand to her, saying softly, “Then I shall bear the responsibility, and embrace your pain, as well.”
Emeravwe did not know what he meant, but the sad way he looked at her gnawed her heart such that she could hardly stay angry at him. She took his out-stretched hand, walking into his embrace.
He held her firmly and, feeling that he needed the comfort just as much as she did, she wrapped her own small arms around him and gently patted his back.
Text Excerpt:
His friends from high school were all laughing merrily, the smiles on their faces were etched into his sight. It should have been the happiest day of the year.
.
.
.
Nonetheless, he was not happy. On this day, Sebastian Alaister
was crying…
…miserably.
Tears spilt down his cheeks leaving stains as they dried on his skin.
He choked a little as he struggled to keep his breathing even.He looked around him once again, he had cut off a slice of the cake and raised it up. The song was coming to an end.
That’s when he opened his mouth
and fed himself the slice of cake.
He roughly swallowed down the cake, coughing a bit as he almost choked during the process before he finally uttered the first words since he had come back today.“Happy Birthday … to me!”
He wiped his tears and forced out a weak strained smile.
He raised his head ahead and looked around him. This time he wasn’t greeted with the sound of laughter, nor the sight of countless vibrant smiles.
After all, how could they?
.
.
.
Most of them …
.
.
.
were already dead.
Major Congratulations to these two users on their win! We hope only the best is to come for them in their work and projects! That’s all we have for now, and the Audertist Team will see you all again!
